Welcome to this week's edition of the Comfort Elementary School Newsletter!

DID YOU KNOW?
An inauguration is a special day when a new President of the United States officially begins their job. On this day, the President takes an oath (a promise) to do their best to lead the country and follow the Constitution. It often includes a ceremony, a speech, and celebrations.

Inauguration Day in the United States usually takes place on January 20th, following a presidential election year.

For more information about inaugurations please visit the following website.

Academic Corner:

Middle of the year testing has begun. Please make sure your student attends school each day.

This is a friendly reminder that instruction begins promptly at 7:45 a.m.

If your child arrives after 7:45 a.m., please walk them into the building and sign them in at the front office. Arriving late means they miss valuable instructional time and the opportunity to connect with their classmates at the start of the day.

Thank you for helping us ensure every student begins the day ready to learn!

Achieve goals

Counselor's Corner

Counselor's Corner
This month we’re focusing on goal setting and creating a growth mindset. Goal setting is important because it helps students identify what they want to work toward and how to take small, realistic steps to get there. Setting goals builds motivation, confidence, and a sense of direction both in and out of the classroom. Growth mindset ties into goal setting and with a healthy growth mindset, goals are easier to accomplish.

Parent Tips to help your child create goals:
• Help your child break goals into smaller steps
and create a simple plan.
• Encourage them to keep trying when things
feel difficult instead of giving up right away.
• Share a time you had to work through a
challenge yourself - kids need to know we've
all faced challenges and how we walked
through those challenges.

Take care,
Mrs. Irvin
