Supporting Perseverance at Every Grade Level
Dear Parents,
Through the month of April in counseling lessons, we are focusing on perseverance - helping students keep trying even when things feel challenging. Our younger students are learning to try again and not give up, while grades 3-5 are using these skills as they prepare for the upcoming STAAR test.
How can you help reiterate this at home:
Help your child learn that it's ok to make mistakes. Encourage them to try again when something feels difficult (perseverance).
"You can do hard things" or "Let's try one more time." help build perseverance for all ages.
And don't forget, for students in 3rd through 5th grade, arriving well-rested and having a healthy breakfast can help them put their best foot forward for STAAR - or anything for that matter!
Take care,
Mrs. Irvin
